The images in this gallery depict the installation sculpture, “Driven From Their Homes,” which was first shown in 2016, then subsequently at the Imago Arts Center Gallery in RI (2019) and the Loomis Chaffee School in CT (2020). I have continued to develop the work up to the present, bearing witness to this sad and never-ending crisis which implores us to attend. The installation depicts the diaspora of refugees and the fate of Gazans trapped in their destroyed city.

“Driven From Their Homes” is a gallery-wide installation ranging from 30 ft wide to 40 ft deep and 9 ft high. It is configured for a specific gallery and its form and imagery have evolved as world events have overcome us. The gallery walls are covered in continuous imagery of paint and charcoal on paper. The buildings in the installation and the environs are painted styrofoam. The figures are fired and painted clay that range from 2-8 in. H. This installation is a voyage and an anti-war story and a cry for mercy all rolled into one.
